Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

This update on his health arrives after the sports world had expressed condolences for the fighter in the following the devastating accident.
