FC Barcelona to Host Inaugural Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Bilbao team in the Spanish league 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. When completed, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Recent Activities
Barcelona held an open training session at the Camp Nou earlier this month. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
